Danilo Šarenac

Danilo Šarenac is a senior researcher employed at the Institute for Contemporary History in Belgrade. His main field of study is cultural history of the First World War. He also studies history of banditry in the Balkans as well as culture of memory. He has contributed articles to several international volumes about the Great War.

As part of the sustainability of the IPEV project (2017-2021), coordinated by the FMSH, the Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED) is organizing a capacity building activity for doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers registered in institutions of Higher Education or Research Centers.

As part of the sustainability of the IPEV project (2017-2021), in partnership with the FMSH and the Carnegie Corporation of New York, Columbia Global Centers | Amman has co-established a six-month virtual fellowship to support scholars working in the social sciences on themes relating to exiting violence.

From May 18 to June 29, 2021, #IPEVLIVE brought together 25 experts and academics who shared, during 7 discussions, their research topics, conclusions and recommendations aimed at enabling an end to violence in the MENA region. This online discussion series was organized by the FMSH in partnership with Carnegie Corporation of New York as part of the International Panel on Exiting Violence.
