Program Objective
In order to meet a demand from Francophone Chinese historians, the FMSH set up a French-Chinese autumn university session in history alongside the Chinese Society for the Study of French History, the East China Normal University, and the University of Zhejiang.
A three-year agreement was signed in December 2005 between the FMSH, the Chinese Society for the Study of French History, and University Paris I. It provides for organizing an autumn university session in history intended for young researchers and Chinese teachers specializing in France and Europe.
Its objective is to raise interest in this discipline, provide training for young researchers (Francophone or other) about European history, and introduce them to new research methods and new topics. The autumn university session is held yearly in Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Jinhua. The coordinator in France is Hughes Tertrais from the University Paris I.
