Through the Braudel Program, the City of Paris and the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme (FMSH) host postdoctoral researchers from Central and Southeastern European countries and the Eastern Mediterranean rim working in scientific fields within the humanities and social sciences. This program aims at giving invited researchers the chance to: take advantage of Paris’ exceptionally high concentration of institutions and scientific infrastructures; increase their and their work’s visibility in France; and carry out a research project of their choice in collaboration with an institute or research laboratory in Paris.
The “Fernand Braudel” Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is intended for researchers working in an institution of higher learning or a research institution located in a country from Central and Southeastern Europe or the Eastern Mediterranean rim.
Disciplines Covered
All disciplines in the humanities and social sciences; interdisciplinarity approach is encouraged. Priority will be given to topics with a comparative dimension that focus on comparing foreign metropolies and the Parisian agglomeration. Such research generally addresses public services, the environment and sustainable development, as well as social and technological innovation.
The program is suspended for the year 2008 - 2009 due to a renegotiation budget.
