The Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme (social sciences and humanitites research foundation) is recognized as an institution of public interest. It is governed by the statutes annexed to the 4 January 1963 decree.
It is managed by a board from which is elected an executive committee, a finance commission, and a scientific commission.
The Foundation is led by an administrator appointed by the Minister of Higher Learning and Research upon a proposal from the board. In coordinating and managing services, the administrator is assisted by a council of directors from the research centers and institutes housed at the Foundation.
Since 1993, the Foundation has been evaluated by an international assessment committee.
