In piloting and managing scientific activities, the administrator is assisted by the scientific direction and a scientific secretary.
Most members of the scientific direction are CNRS researchers and university professors who voluntarily devote a portion of their work to the Foundation’s activities.
Members of the scientific direction are co-opted by the administrator according to their scientific expertise in various fields (anthropology, history, political science, economics, literary studies, etc.), their mastery of languages due to their profound knowledge of the cultural areas in which they work (China, India, Middle East, Russia, Europe, Latin America, etc), as well as their experience in research management, namely in managing international and cross-cutting programs (PIEA, post-doctoral fellowships, Maison Suger, …).
The scientific direction is aided by a scientific secretariat composed of university-educated members. The scientific secretariat offers supports in implementing international scientific programs, organizing events, and hosting foreign researchers.
Collectively, members of the scientific direction and secretariat speak over a dozen languages (including English, German, Spanish, Italian, Czech, Polish, Bulgarian, Romanian, Russian, Japanese, Hindi, and Arabic).
This internationality and the diversity of institutional and disciplinary affiliations are what enable the MSH Foundation to meet its objective of being the nodal point for European and international cooperation in social and human sciences as regards extending invitations to researchers and mounting projects.
