The documentation policy of the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme library has an international and interdisciplinary focus, and is largely rooted in two key disciplines: sociology and history (based on the Annales School). These, in turn, have been enriched with supporting disciplines – including philosophy, political science, linguistics, economics – and collections built around specific questions – e.g. gender studies, worker self-management movements, North American studies, etc.
Both historical and critical, with general and theoretical materials, the FMSH library now aims to reflect not only the traditional areas of enquiry of the social and human sciences, but also to accompany the timeliest orientations of contemporary research.
