The AmSud Portal was developed in large part thanks to financing from the European R&D project called LOGOS (2006-2009). This portal gives users access to roughly 300 hours of online video: interviews with researchers, conferences and scholarly seminars, special reports, and documentaries. It provides access to audiovisual recordings made with researchers, professors, specialists, and professionals working on issues related to the countries and people of Latin America.
The AmSud Portal includes an online library, a hypermedia encyclopedia, hypermedia folders for educational uses, as well as multilingual folders for the non-French speaking public.
The AmSud Portal is part of the Audiovisual Research Archives Program (ARA) led by the Cognitive Semiotics and New Medias Team (ESCoM) at the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme (FMSH).
