The “Peoples and Cultures of the World” (PCW) Portal was developed in large part thanks to financing from two European R&D projects (2006-2009): LOGOS and DIVAS. This portal includes around 650 hours of online video: interviews with researchers, conferences and scholarly seminars, special reports, and documentaries. It gives access to audiovisual recordings made with researchers, professors, and specialists and professionals working in fields related to the material and immaterial cultural heritage of the world’s peoples.
The PCW Portal is composed of an online library, a hypermedia encyclopedia, hypermedia folders for educational uses, as well as multilingual folders for users that do not speak French.
The PCW Portal is part of the Audiovisual Research Archives Program (ARA) led by the Cognitive Semiotics and New Medias Team (ESCoM) at the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme (FMSH).
