The “Linguistic and Cultural Diversity” (LCD) Portal was developed in large part thanks to financing from the RIAM Program, the ANR, and OSEO-ANVAR in the framework of French R&D project called SAPHIR (2006-2009). The portal gives users access to heritage composed of roughly 680 hours of online videos: interviews with researchers, conferences and scholarly seminars, special reports, and documentaries. It also includes audiovisual recordings made with researchers, professors, specialists, and professionals working with world languages, their history, and their relationships with culture and society.
The LCD Portal includes an online library, a hypermedia encyclopedia, hypermedia folders for educational uses, as well as multilingual folders for those who do not speak French.
The LCD Portal is part of the Audiovisual Research Archives Program (AAR) led by the Cognitive Semiotics and New Medias Team (ESCoM) at the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme (FMSH).
